Program Director - Youth & Family Engagement (Personal Services)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides superior customer service to all members and program participants.Focuses on member and participant engagement by providing a warm welcome, sincere interest in each individual and strong follow-through to ensure a quality experience for all.Recruits, trains and supervises staff and volunteers needed to run successful, quality YMCA programsMaintain safe and clean program facilities.Take lead role in the supervision of Kids Corner (Member babysitting service), Youth Fitness and Movement Offerings, and Martial Arts Contract.Lead the formation of groups, classes and membership and family engagement programming (Parents Night Out, youth movement, youth fitness, family days/nights, and service opportunities). Includes contacting/responding to volunteers/program participants via e-mail, phone, or in person in a timely manner.Assist in the recruiting of program participants through communication and marketing effortsAssist in the evaluation of program effectivenessPerform random quality checks of programs and events as neededEffectively communicate and market new and current programs to members and prospective members in a courteous and professional mannerAssist in the on-site/off-site supervision of programs/activities.Assist in the supervision of volunteers and part-time staff.Assist in direct services to members in membership and wellness departments.
Qualifications
This position requires strong organizational, communication, interpersonal relation skills and an ability to work independently at times without direct supervision.Knowledge of youth development as well as wellness is a must.A desire to help and work with youth and adults is necessary.A basic knowledge in exercise, event planning and program development is vital.
Must be CPR certified within 60 days.
Education/Experience
College Education preferredMinimum of 2 years' experience working with youth, teens and/or familiesPreferred experience in YMCA programs such as youth development, wellness, sports or membership.
