For more information, visit:www.gpinet.com Responsibilities: Work in a team environment to develop contract documents, including construction drawings and technical specificationsApply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents for roadways under the guidance of senior engineersActively mentor and provide guidance to less experienced staffProgress and evaluate design details for roadway projects, including pavement condition and repair, sidewalk design, signing and pavement markings, complete street evaluations and minor drainageDevelop contract drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCADReview and provide Quality Control (QC) for project engineering deliverablesInterface with other technical disciplinesDevelop cost estimates for construction documentsAttend project meetings and participate in project site visits when requiredAssist with marketing proposal efforts for new roadway projectsServe as Deputy Project Manager or Project Engineer on roadway projects within NYSDOT Regions 4 and 5 Qualifications: BS Civil Engineering from an accredited universityNew York State Professional Engineer (PE) required or ability to obtain5 to 10 years of meaningful experience related to roadway engineering designShall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionallyPrepare design criteria using relevant codes and standardsCompetent use of relevant software such as MS Office, MicroStation, and AutoCADPreliminary and final design plan production experienceFamiliarity with MUTCD, AASHTO, and NYSDOT / County StandardsGood writing and communication skills a plus
