Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical and hydraulic drive and speed reducing systems, pumps, valves and piping systems, pneumatic and hydraulic operators, compressors, and all process equipment
Make complex machine adjustments
Analyze mechanical problems and make corrective adjustments
Recognize wear on machine parts, i.e. ways, slides, chains, sprockets, cams, gears, etc.
Service, repair, modify, and maintain all fire control, personnel safety and rescue equipment
Train other maintenance employees to increase their maintenance knowledge
Use all types of grinders, both hand and pedestal
Use arc and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, will be able to prepare joints and weld mild steel, know proper heat selection, rod selection and the most favorable machine polarity, will know how to braze, silver solder, use lead-tin solders and torch for welding and cutting.
Use Do All saw, band saw and table saw safely and efficiently, make proper blade selection and know proper blade speeds.
Use sheet metal equipment such as shears, punch press, angle cutter, brake and lock former
Use arbor press, drill press, radial boring machine and other auxiliary equipment
Run conduit and pipe level and plumb, make brackets and clamps so that conduit and pipe looks mechanical and professionally acceptable.
Make routine replacements on pneumatic controls and operating systems.
Make minor repairs to plant service equipment such as compressors, air dryers, boilers, demineralizer, chillers, A/C units, etc.
Make routine replacements on electrical equipment components, using basic electrical monitoring instruments.
Apply all plant and maintenance safety procedures while performing maintenance activities and responsibilities.
Practice good safety and housekeeping.
Adhere to the ISO standards to continually improve and service to consistently meet customer requirements.
Perform other duties as required by department supervisor/manager
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
General maintenance experience with at least 3 years preferred.
Able to work from blueprints and sketches with limited direction.
Able to read electrical and pneumatic schematic drawings
Good understanding of compressed air system, air valves, cylinders, regulators, etc.
Good knowledge of millwright techniques including ability to do own rigging
Must be able to repair, maintain, and install industrial equipment and systems within CEDA.
Must be able to use dial indicators, levels, and other instruments to set, align, and/or troubleshoot equipment.
Must be able to work overtime before or after normal starting times and on weekends.
Must demonstrate satisfactory performance including good attendance, adherence to company policies and procedures, and each responsibility consistently to retain position or employment.
Must be able to pass a Respiratory Physical and able to wear a breathing apparatus, if required.
Must be clean shaven to maintain proper seal of any breathing apparatus, if required.
