Instructor, Medical Genetics - Internal Medicine, McGovern Medical School (Finance)

T he Department of Internal Medicine and the John Ritter Research Program in Aortic and Vascular Diseases in McGovern Medical Schoo l at UTHealth Houston invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Instructor position.

We are particularly interested in applicants with an interest in vascular diseases and cardiovascular diseases

Position Key Accountabilities:

The instructor position will provide advanced scientific and technical expertise to contribute to the formulation, implementation, and analysis of techniques, procedures, and results of research projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing extramural funding and actively participating in research activities.
• Overseeing and maintaining the division's biobank including audits to validate the integrity of the biobank in terms of samples collected.
• Staying abreast of new biomedical progress and technological advances to upgrade research skills and produce better and faster results.
• Assisting the principal investigator in obtaining grant funds and other types of financial support and material transfer.

Qualifications:

• MD or Ph.D. degree
• 4 years of additional research experience.
