We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Colonial Vista Post Acute. As a Cook, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients, staff, and visitors receive nutritious, delicious meals that cater to various dietary restrictions and preferences. You will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of meals according to established menus, while adhering to safety and hygiene standards to ensure a clean and healthy environment. A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to serving the health and wellness of our community is essential. You will collaborate closely with dietitians to create menus that meet the dietary needs of our patients, while also considering individual taste preferences. Strong organizational skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key to succeeding in this role. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to the established menu and dietary specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Coordinate with dietitians to ensure all meals meet nutritional standards and dietary restrictions.
• Oversee food storage and handling processes to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory and perform inventory control to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredients.
• Educate kitchen staff about proper food handling and safety practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitary practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
