JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing programmatic leadership within the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH)'s Division of Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction (SUPHR). Emphasis is placed on overseeing outreach services and education outside of the Kensington neighborhood, with a particular emphasis on racial equity. The person filling this position will work closely with the Harm Reduction and Environmental Services managers and collaborate on outreach initiatives. The Community Engagement Program Manager will report to the Deputy Division Director of SUPHR and work closely with staff within the Division, community-based organizations, and other city and state government agencies.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Responsibilities/Duties
Under the supervision of the Deputy Division Director of the Division of Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction, the Community Engagement Program Manager will perform the following essential job functions:
Education:
Completion of a Master's Degree program in public health, public administration or a related field; AND three (3) or more years of work experience in project management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary level of skill, knowledge and ability.
Desired Qualifications:
Work Environment: Field-based with a touch down office space
Position Type and Work Schedule: Full time position, typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
May be designated as essential staff to work non-traditional hours during public health emergencies
This is a grant-funded position; thus, continuation of the position depends on the continued availability of funds.
Travel: Local travel to multiple sites and community meetings, daily
Physical Demands: Ability to transport materials, routinely moves equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 lbs.
