We are currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Endicott, NY facility. This person will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of quality. This role will be focused on process optimization, troubleshooting production issues, and leading cross-functional projects. Additionally, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will mentor other Engineers - fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Process Improvement and Optimization Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and enhance product quality using lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies.Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient production.Collaborate with the design engineering team to ensure the feasibility of dimensional tolerances, geometric constraints, and manufacturability of designs. Mentor and guide team members to enhance their technical skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Contribute to long-term strategic planning by aligning manufacturing processes with company goals, ensuring scalability, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency. Production Support Provide engineering support to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, minimizing downtime and maintaining production flow. Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Apply problem-solving techniques to resolve manufacturing challenges and ensure operational efficiency. Participate in production meetings, offering technical insights, and fostering a cooperative approach to problem-solving and process optimization. Quality Assurance and Compliance Lead the "Performance Qualification" of IQ-OQ-PQ through demonstration of PFMEA Mitigation and Process Control Pan Metrics. Work with the quality team to monitor defect rates, investigate quality issues, and implement corrective actions. Support the implementation of AIPC IQ, OQ, and PQ requirements for process equipment to ensure regulatory compliance. Cost Estimation and Quoting Work with sales, Design Engineering and Production teams to provide accurate cost estimates for new products or production runs. Integrate budget considerations into cost estimates, ensuring alignment with company financial goals and ROI targets. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on process optimization, project management, and troubleshooting. Proven experience in mentoring or leading technical teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process optimization methodologies. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to apply these principles in manufacturing processes and design interpretation. Experience in quoting and cost estimation, with the ability to evaluate materials, labor, and equipment costs accurately. Proficiency in CAD, ERP, MRP, and simulation tools, with a strong understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions that improve production performance. Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., ISO etc.) and experience ensuring compliance within manufacturing environments. Amphenol offers a competitive salary and benefits.
