Office Asssistant - Energy Progs (Construction)
Completes updates, photocopies and distributes forms and reports to Energy Programs Management, Fiscal Dept. and other support staff for the purpose of recording, planning and invoicing.
Prepares, enters, verifies, and updates energy documents to Program Specialist II for approval; then, prepares packages for mailing.
Utilizes two computer systems for program needs.
Maintains contact with Program Specialist II to ensure promptness of paperwork.
Receives and reviews accuracy of energy documents submitted by Energy Programs field staff.
Maintains positive working relationships with staff and customers.
Contacts customers as needed for information clarification, provides customer service to include referral information.
Answers telephone, screens and directs calls.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent and certificate of completion from a college or technical school; or six months of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must type 40 wpm.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation and California driver's license and minimum auto insurance required by law.
