Supervisor, Warehouse (Manufacturing)
- Leads and coordinates the shipping and receiving of containers from customers to suppliers.
- Interacts with customer/supplier ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner, with effective
- follow-up.
- Assesses manpower needs based on present and past production requirements.
- Observes and provides waste reduction opportunities related to employee productivity.
- Prepares equipment and facility reports.
- Assists with the design, layout (striping), maintenance and continuous improvement of the work
- area(s).
- Ensures ORBIS safety rules and policies are maintained and followed.
- Adhere to facility 5S housekeeping standards.
- Support and assist in the execution and continuous improvement of the quality policy and
- procedures.
- Computer entry into spreadsheet/data base input.
- Administrative functions, as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Certification Requirements:
High School Degree or Equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
Must Maintain company-approved Fork Lift Operator's License
Work Experience Required:
3-5 Years of related work experience working in distribution, container management, consolidations, manufacturing, and/or shipping and receiving. (2-3 years in supervisory role preferred)
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Strong communication skills
- Basic understanding of budgets and P&L Statements
- Ability to understand various manufacturing scheduling systems, such as MRP
- PC Literate, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
- Knowledge of LEAN tools
- Bi-Lingual skills preferred (required for positions outside the US)
- Pro-active attitude about the job and company
- Ability to handle the stress of working with others
- Availability outside of normal business hours
- Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others
- Desire to advance within the company, including relocation if needed
- Ability to travel to other sites as needed
