Orchard Post Acute, a skilled nursing facility committed to providing quality care in Fresno, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Staff Development (DSD) to lead and support the training and development of our clinical staff. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, compliance, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and oversee orientation and in-service education for all nursing staff in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Ensure staff competency through evaluations, skills checks, and continuing education.
• Maintain training records and ensure timely completion of required certifications, including CPR and in-service training.
• Coordinate and conduct infection prevention education, safety drills, and emergency preparedness training.
• Participate in QA meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and address training needs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to staff development and maintain accurate documentation.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to the nursing staff, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a current California LVN or RN license in good standing.
• Must have current DSD certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in long-term care nursing and staff training preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage staff in continuous learning and quality improvement.
