IP Team Lead Patent Attorney / Agent (Administrative)
Responsibilities:The IP Supervisor - Patent Attorney/Agent - is responsible for supervising the IP team, dockets, records and budget. This includes the development, filing and prosecution of US and foreign patent applications, maintenance of the companys patent portfolio and clearance of new and revised product designs. Executive Managements emphasis on the development of patent portfolio ensures great visibility and opportunity within the organization.

Core Responsibilities of our Patent Attorney/Agent Intellectual Property Supervisor:
Role reports to President / CEO.Supervise administrative aspects of the IP department including personnel, dockets, records, risk assessments and budgetMonitor departments and design reviews to identify patentable subject matterDraft US and foreign patent applications based on reviewed subject matterDevelop patent illustrations with in-house designer for US & foreign patent applicationsCoordinate office action responses and clearance opinions with outside counselReview and approve new product designs in Phase 2 of the Product Development Process. Counsel and provide relevant coaching to company personnel regarding IP matters.Assist outside counsel and in-house Legal with potential or existing IP litigationEvaluate the patent portfolio with the supervisor for payment of maintenance feesMaintain the IP departments virtual patent label programAssist the Legal Team with IP licensing and other technology agreementsUpdate competitive patent intelligence for Executive ManagementEvaluate competitive products for patent infringementCoordinate with marketing to manage the trademark portfolioMust have current USPTO registration as a patent agentBachelors in technical disciplinePatent Agent experience minimum 5 yearsMinimum 2 years supervisory experience (preference in leading an IP team)
