What you will be doing?
The Financial Analyst is an entry-level position for the SEC Reporting Team of a $63 billion company. Reporting is a position within the Controller/Chief Accounting Officer's Group at Wintrust Financial Corporation (the “Company”) and is responsible for the preparation of Company-wide financial statements and SEC filings in a timely manner and for researching and analyzing financial data to complete the various Company-wide Reports.
Prepare public filings, including the Form 10-Q, 10-K, Annual Report and quarterly earnings releases. Review and verify data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Prepare internal financial schedules and/or reconciliations related to month end, quarter end, or annual reporting cycles and as needed for support for public filings.
Assist internal & external audit teams with financial reporting disclosure request.
Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the VP/SVP - Reporting related to accounting & financial reporting matters.
Support the Controller/Chief Accounting Officer's Group in establishing and maintaining Company accounting and financial reporting procedures.
Resolves non-routine problems with specialized knowledge.
Contribute as an active team member, looking for ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
2-3 year financial analyst exp or more
Accounting/Finance degree preferred
Understanding of processes/accounting related to banking/financial services preferred.
Experience preparing/reviewing SEC filings or similar quarterly/annual reports preferred
Proficient in financial systems such as Workiva and Workday.
Strong analytical/critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make data-driven decisions.
Elevated level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality with financial data.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
