JOB SUMMARY:
The role of the Engineering Technician, Projects will be to assist the business growth efforts for our controls and automation platform, specifically related to RigCLOUD, SmartROS integrations, Energy Transition Projects and other new technology on global and domestic, third party, Nabors and non-PACE Nabors rigs. You will be responsible for initial design specifications, rig and equipment surveys, as well as seeing the project through to automation execution. This role will include assisting in the development of new technologies that will increase revenue and ESG scores through strategies and technology. It may also include continuous customer engagement, creation of SmartROS integration scenarios, commercial structures to better position our assets and drilling solutions in the marketplace to drive growth and profitability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the technical and integration efforts on behalf of Controls and Automation and Engineering for new products
• Support Engineering and business development efforts for all SmartROS, RigCLOUD and ESG opportunities
• Collaborate with new product development to support new product commercialization stage-gate process, with specific accountability in defining the deployment process
• Assist the project management teams to define and maintain metrics to consistently evaluate the impact of proposed integration solutions
• Be an escalation point for troubleshooting prototype, beta and commercial products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree or 8 years of experience in controls and automation development in lieu of degree
• Minimum 10 years of technical drilling rig controls experience
• Strong project management experience is desired, with the ability to takes ownership for ensuring the desired outcome of engineering projects and to establish priorities, critical milestones, and monitor the projects toward Engineering objectives.
• Demonstrable experience in designing basic control systems

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is required frequently to use hands and digits to handle or feel work material. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Lifting/carry up to 50lbs occasionally, 20lbs frequently, and 5 to 10lbs daily. Must be able to use/wear applicable personal protective equipment which may include but is not limited to safety-toed footwear (with ankle height support), back support belt, hearing protection, safety eye-wear with side shields, gloves and hard hat. May occasionally be required to wear approved/applicable respiratory protection equipment (respiratory protection guidelines would apply with regard to medical evaluation and fit testing of equipment). Will be required to work long hours and adapt to inclement weather conditions. This position will require 60%-70% travel. Frequent assent/decent of stairs/steps, especially at field locations. Must be able to respond quickly to an emergency situation.
