Accounts Payable Specialist (Finance)
Verify invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies
Process payments in a timely and accurate manner
Perform invoice and general ledger recording
Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation
Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate records of accounts payable activities
Generate purchase orders as needed
Prepare and process weekly check runs and obtain signatures for payment
Verify documentation prior to obtaining signatures for checks
Retrieve and distribute mail
Research and resolve vendor matters and payment discrepancies
Assist with month-end closing activities and annual audit preparation
At the direction of the Accounts Payable manager, ensure all accounts payable transactions are executed
Assist senior financial officers as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Formal Education/Experience:
Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred (non-profit experience a plus) or the equivalent of education and experience
2+ years of accounts payable experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software and online platforms; MIP software experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable processes
Have the capability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
Exercise sound judgement and best practices
