Heavy Haul CDL Driver (Transportation)

CDL Class A Heavy Haul Driver
We are looking for an experienced Heavy Haul CDL Class A Driver to join our team. This role is responsible for transporting oversized and heavy equipment using a variety of trailers, including low-bed, step-deck, and multi-axle configurations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy equipment transport, load securement, and route planning to ensure safe and efficient deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate and maintain heavy haul trucks and trailers for oversized load transport
Load, secure, and transport heavy equipment in compliance with DOT regulations
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition
Plan and navigate routes, considering weight restrictions, permits, and escort requirements
Accurately complete daily logs, inspection forms, and load documentation
Assess site conditions, terrain, and weather to ensure safe loading and unloading
Communicate effectively with dispatch, job site personnel, and escort drivers
Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues

Qualifications:

Valid Class A CDL with experience in heavy haul trucking
2-5 years of experience hauling oversized loads with low-bed or multi-axle trailers
Ability to drive manual transmission
Clean 5-year driving record (required)
Knowledge of load securement, weight distribution, and permit regulations
Strong attention to safety, time management, and problem-solving

Preferred Experience:

Experience in forestry or construction equipment hauling
Mechanical knowledge for basic truck and trailer maintenance
