Research Associate (Finance)
This role plans, conducts, and directs a wide variety of experiments in our Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department. The position assists with the day-to-day activities for research project(s) and may impact the success of the research project(s). The Research Associate will help in performing basic science research in Alzheimer's mice model to study the role of innate immune cells in amyloid and tau pathology. Responsibilities include conducting histological (tissue staining) and molecular experiments (like western blot), PCR, flow cytometry, animal handling and colony maintenance, and maintaining the lab. The individual will be working in a lab focused on studying the brain and behavior. The individual will be expected to work with other researchers in the lab to complete experiments. Histological methods, Molecular methods, Animal handling and colony management, RT-PCR, Microscopy, Maintaining the lab, Flow Cytometry are identified preferences and skill sets.

Certification/Skills:
Considerable knowledge in basic and sophisticated equipment.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field with three (3) years of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
Master's degree in a related field with one (1) year of related research experience including experience in a lead research role; or
Doctorate degree.
Minimum Experience:
Years of experience varies based on education level.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
