DR3AM'RS Clubhouse Program is designed to provide a comprehensive and unique set of services for children and families coping with the isolation, stigma and other challenges of substance use and co-occurring (substance abuse and mental health) disorders and related behavioral health disorders.
The Family Advocate works with families to promote family wellness and parent involvement programs to include advocacy, parent peer support group, and parent's education and to support the implementation of family partnership process. Function The Family Advocate will operate as a liaison between the Clubhouse staff, consumer and parents in the treatment process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate Relapse Prevention Plan (Individual and Group)
Coordinate Gambling Addiction Group
Address Clubhouse member's crisis.
Develop Clubhouse Members Goals.
Maintain updated Global Assessment Individual Need (GAIN).
Documents services on Carelogic and GSU Portal as dictated by View Point Health's policies and procedures.
Collaborates with others to accomplish work related activities.
Abides by all rules of confidentiality and the Code of Ethics prescribed by View Point Health.
Works as part of the DR3AMERS Clubhouse Staff team to help the clubhouse members and their families.
Assists adolescents, their family and school partners in identifying individual needs for each child, assisting with conflict resolution, and creating action plans to assist family and child with the completion of established goals.
Partners with the school to communicate the child's needs and assist the school in providing the tools to help the child succeed.
Empowers and encourages families to make use of all identified resources.
Attends all training opportunities as provided.
Maintains confidentiality of all family information and client records in accordance with View Point Health regulations.
Encourages families to participate in parent orientation, parents' meetings, and other parent activities.
Establishes links and working relationships with appropriate service providers/community agencies.
Responsible for planning and ensuring proper nutrition for clubhouse members while participating in regular activities. Family Support Partner
Partner in acquiring proper resources for the parents.
Has experience with and access to local social agencies DocuSign to identify the proper channels, locate sources of support and navigate the process to ensure the family gets access to services required for assistance.
Provides a neutral voice to the table, working between the agency and family to serve the best interest of the child.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of job-related experience; or One (1) year of experience at the lower-level Advocate 1 (SSP080) or equivalent position.
Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over year."
Note: Must be able to write, read, speak, and comprehend English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fluent English and Spanish are preferred.
Associate or bachelor's degree in human services, Human Development, Child Development or another social service program - but not required.
History and a clear understanding of working with families in crisis and the skills necessary to make a connection with all our families.
Comprehension of state and federal codes, laws and regulations may also be required.
Patient and flexible.
Ability to listen without judgment.
Willing to deal with the variety of issues that face a family.
Requirements/Competencies:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
Must have valid Georgia driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
