Commercial Portfolio Manager (Finance)
Summary:
Responsible for assisting Regional Manager and Commercial Bankers with managing commercial relationships to include loan, deposit, and cash management services. Generates deposits, fee income and referrals through analyzing, underwriting and closing loan. Cross-sells additional services to new and existing customers. Inputs/updates customer information on the Bank's loan/credit platform. Direct responsibility for portfolio management, to include obtaining required loan, deposit, financial and other information and documentation, and follow-up with post-closing items. May also maintain his/her own commercial portfolio. Interacts with customers, their attorneys, and accountants to collect required documents such as financial statements, tax returns, titles and deeds of trust, to assure that files are complete. Reviews monthly reports to initiate action to clear exceptions.
Essential Job Functions:
• Works with existing and potential customers to close and retain business.
• Solicits total banking relationships by working with all lines of business partners to demonstrate full scope of bank products and services
• Cross-sell additional services to new and existing customers
• Work closely with credit partners in the administration of new and existing loan relationships
• Follows current loans and credit lines to ensure conformity with terms, bank policy, regulatory guidelines
• Involves appropriate Bank personnel on larger loans and lines and keeps them informed regarding the status of the Bank's outstanding loans
• Reviews outstanding loan portfolio on a timely basis to ensure that all modifications, collection of past dues and other portfolio responsibilities are handled in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitors loan payments and coordinates collection activities for all past due loans
• Coordinates interactions between Market Executives, Commercial Bankers, support areas within the bank, and customers to effectively manage commercial relationships
• Responsible for obtaining all required loan, deposit, and cash management documentation
• Reviews monthly reports to initiate and clear all loan and deposit exceptions
• Communicates with attorneys, accountants, and outside agencies to request necessary documents for loan and deposit processing
• Utilizes internal systems to image original loan and deposit documents
• Conducts courtesy calls of commercial customers for the purpose of relationship building and identifying cross-sell opportunities
• Becomes familiar with referral partners and gains a general knowledge of solutions they offer
• Remains knowledgeable of Bank products and services to provide customers with appropriate financial solutions
• Proactively engages internal and external Bank partners when appropriate
• Remains current on State and Federal regulations and Bank policies and procedures relating to lending and deposit requirements
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required, prefer college degree or coursework in banking, finance, business or lending
• Prior banking experience required, additional commercial banking experience is strongly preferred
• Must have knowledge of all products and services offered by the Bank
• Knowledge of lending regulations, bank policy, and procedure and credit analysis
• Must be familiar with and understand basic loan and deposit terminology
Knowledge/Skills Required:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
• Able to perform effectively in fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Proficient in the use of Word and Excel, and on loan and deposit platforms
• Must be proficient in the use of basic office equipment, with emphasis on calculator and computer
Physical and Mental Qualifications:
• Occasional standing, walking, bending and stooping required
• Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
• May occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
