Polisher/Buffer (Manufacturing)

Duties/Responsibilities:

Select and secure wheels and belts on polishing machines; dress and balance wheels; select and apply polishing compounds.
Select abrasive and grain size best suited for material types and finish requirements.
Apply and manipulate work to abrasive and polishing wheels, varying pressure, and position to grind, polish, buff and glaze surface and contours to bring out the required finish.
Examine hinge for acceptability of finish and check hinge on the spectrophotometer.
Adjust or change out belts, wheels or compounds as required.
Reading of routing slip.
Follow all safety and environmental procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
