Respiratory Virus Surveillance Coordinator/Epidemiologist - Remote (Biotech)
SUMMARY
Under the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) cooperative agreement, Heluna Health, and the Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), recruiting for a Respiratory Virus Surveillance Coordinator/ Epidemiologist for the Clinical Epidemiology Section of the COVID Control Branch (CCB).
The CCB provides scientific leadership on SARS-CoV-2 and bridges surveillance of other respiratory viruses to inform public health decision-making and action. Founded in 2023 and building on lessons learned through the CDPH COVID-19 response, our Branch utilizes genomic epidemiology, wastewater surveillance and forecasting, in addition to traditional disease surveillance methods, to monitor respiratory virus disease activity in California. CCB is also poised to support other respiratory outbreaks as they emerge. The Respiratory Virus Surveillance Coordinator/Epidemiologist will manage and facilitate various activities related to grants and budgets, enhanced surveillance efforts and respiratory virus data management and reporting.
If selected for an interview, candidates will be expected to have knowledge in R, Python, and/or other similar languages. The position will interact and collaborate with several multidisciplinary CDPH teams as well as other internal and external partners as they contribute to the CCB's mission and vision.

Salary range: $82,000 to $110,000 annually depending on experience/qualifications
