Job Summary
The Cold Forming Operator is responsible for setting up and operating assigned mechanical equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures products meet quality standards, performs troubleshooting, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain a smooth production process.
Job Duties
- Set up and efficiently operate assigned cold forming equipment.
- Perform routine checks and quality inspections to ensure products meet or exceed quality control standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced equipment issues, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering specifications, and production plans.
- Utilize gaging instruments to ensure product accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Accurately complete all required documentation and data entry in a timely manner.
- Maintain adherence to 5S standards (cleanliness and organization of the workspace).
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality regulations and protocols.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and perform other tasks as assigned.
Experience and Education
- Qualifications and Experience
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle complex operational challenges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comprehensive knowledge of cold forming processes.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in cold forming or a related manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and adjusting mechanical equipment.
Competencies/ Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Solid mathematical skills for performing measurements and calculations.
- Proficient in the use of gaging instruments and the ability to apply them in a production environment.
