About the role
Under general supervision of Registered Nurses (Charge Nurses), administers routine services in caring for Hospice patients in the inpatient setting; performs duties defined by delegated tasks and competencies; reports and records observations and changes in the patient'scondition and care exercising discretion in matters relating to patients and their families; administers medications as directed by the physician and under supervision of Registered Nurse.
Essential Job Functions
Provides nursing care under direction of the Registered Nurse or Patient Family Care Coordinator as outlined by the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care.Participates in admission, transfer and discharge of nursing care as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.Participates in admission, transfer and discharge of nursing care as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.Reports and documents all observed medication errors, adverse drug reactions and unusual occurrences by completing an incident report.Provides for measures which provide for the safety of patients (i.e. side rails), procedures (i.e. Fall Risk Protocol), bed exit alarm and communication with Registered Nurse.Maintains an attractive and comfortable environment for patients with special consideration to the cleanliness of rooms, ventilation and lighting.Adheres to and effectively communicates Hospice's philosophy, goals, objectives and policies to patients/families, physicians and staff.
