Benefits Administrator (Finance)

Job Summary
Administers benefit plan program to include group health, retirement, and disability plans, ergonomic programs, and leaves of absences. Ensures compliance with federal and state laws as well as internal processes and guidelines. Serves as a resource to internal Human Capital peers. Maintains PeopleSoft applications regarding employee benefit records to develop, monitor, and analyze data required for decision-making. Makes recommendations to improve and enhance employee benefit processing. Provide customer service to employees and their families regarding all benefit-related issues.
Education & Experience
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with emphasis in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience
• 4+ years' experience in employee benefit administration to include working knowledge of 401(k), life and disability plans
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
• Experience administering FMLA and ADA leaves
Preferred:
• PeopleSoft experience
• Multi-state benefit administration
• Ergonomic and/or wellness programs administration
• Handling workers compensation injuries and return to work programs
• SCA Health & Welfare Benefits administration
Key Responsibilities
• Administers daily operations of group benefit programs, including:
• Health and welfare programs - coordinate monthly new hire enrollment; manage monthly invoice reconciliations and payments; support regular audits; ensure employee benefit questions and inquiries are answered and resolved timely; administer disability and life insurance claims.
• Wellness program - administer multi-state program; serve as point of contact to vendors and internal Human Capital staff; project manage and coordinate multi-state events.
• Leaves of Absence programs - support consistency across all locations; lead the administration of programs for the corporate office.
• Open enrollment process - administer annual enrollment activities; preparation and review of open enrollment documents; enrollment system testing; educate employees regarding their insurance choices for the upcoming year; respond to employee phone and email inquiries timely.
• Government reporting - Responsible for preparation of annual ACA and OSHA reporting.
• Workers compensation - report injury claims to third-party administrator and follow-up on claims.
• 401(k) retirement plan - administer contribution changes, loans, weekly file feeds; assist with annual non-discrimination testing and audit.
• Ergonomic programs - conduct ergonomic work station assessments and related adjustments; inspect work stations and recommend ergonomic modifications to minimize risk of injury; coordinate the collection of medical documentation related to special workplace requests.
• Data and File management - perform benefit data input for initial benefit events, qualified life events, QMCSO, COBRA, payroll deduction dates, and other benefit programs; maintain employee benefit files, vendor benefit files, and other documents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Working Conditions
Working Conditions:
• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required to meet volume demands
• Works in a standard office environment, with minimal travel
• Extensive computer work with prolonged sitting
