CNC Process Engineer (Finance)

CNC Process Engineer
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled CNC Process Engineer to join our team. This is a newly created role focused on designing new tooling and developing CNC programs to support the high-volume machining of gear blanks and fasteners for the automotive industry. The position will also involve process optimization, troubleshooting, and recommending improvements to enhance cost-efficiency and product quality.
Compensation:
- Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year (compensation will depend on experience).
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Programming:
- Write CNC lathe programs using G & M codes for high-volume machining.
- Process & Equipment Selection:
- Participate in selecting new processes and equipment for CNC machining operations.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Investigate and implement process changes to improve cost-effectiveness and product quality.
- Monitor cycle times against standards and pursue opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Investigate and recommend alternative cutting tools and coatings.
- Track and record cost savings realized through implemented process improvements.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Troubleshoot production tooling issues.
- Provide ongoing support to manufacturing departments as needed.
- Tooling Design:
- Design work holding fixtures, gaging systems, and select tooling for new products.
- Assign tool numbers and enter them into the MRP system.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Occasionally design automation systems to integrate multiple machines.
Experience Required:
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (4-year program).
- Software Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design work.
- Experience with Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.
