Director of Manufacturing Services (Manufacturing)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads performance in the planning, coordination, and control of all manufacturing, supply chain, maintenance, production planning, and warehouse functions at APT and the personnel assigned to those functions. Establish both quality and efficiency in all production processes to meet performance objectives. Promote positive leadership to ensure safety goals and environmental programs for manufacturing operations. Direct, monitor, and provide specific feedback on production issues, opportunities, and delays. This will require a proactive approach to investigation and analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution. Design and implement on-time tracking systems to monitor manufacturing schedules and operations as necessary to ensure profitability, timely service, and product quality for strong customer service. Provide reports as requested or needed on all aspects of the manufacturing operation.Lead the development and implementation of improved operating methods via lean or other strategic manufacturing flow and business process systems and procedures to reduce costs, improve quality performance, and improve profitability. Develop effective lines of communication and cooperation between corporate departments and functions within areas of responsibility. Promote strong team-building skills. Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate, as well as to delegate and empower others to succeed.Formulate annual operational objectives and programs governing manufacturing, service, and distribution.Performs described duties to meet or exceed Customer, AS9100, and regulatory requirements.Domestic and international travel may be required. Performs other duties assigned by the President and Chief Executive Officer.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises group leaders, supply chain, and production planning. Direct reports may be added or subtracted over time. Incumbent will carry out supervisory and managerial responsibilities by following APT organizational policies, applicable federal, state, and local laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance: rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems, and career development.
