Prudential Group Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Vice President, Business Architect that enhances the alignment of strategy to technology execution by translating business strategies into capability assessments that support the future state architecture. The Business Architect will recommend capability enhancements through collaborative engagements with business, functional and IT leaders and partner with product owners and the Portfolio Enablement team on the development and execution of multiyear integrated roadmaps.
Successful candidates in the role will develop trusted relationships across business and IT teams, facilitating cross-functional collaboration among stakeholders using artifacts and interactions, and leveraging business and technological expertise to evaluate strategic plans, assess capabilities, and recommend targeted actions to advance business results.
The current employee work arrangement for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
What you can expect:
Partners with business and IT leaders to establish a future state model that aligns with business strategies and considers external factors and trends that impacts the business' goals.
Recommends changes and enhancements to plans or investments, with a focus on growth, profitability, customer experience and risk.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in the form of cost savings or process improvements by leveraging capabilities in new ways.
Evaluates gaps in business capabilities that impact the achievement of future state and communicates recommendations to stakeholders using suitable artifacts and techniques.
Establishes multi-year roadmaps that achieve the future state, align supporting teams, and help to guide investments.
Visualizes growth opportunities and translates roadmaps into actional recommendations for teams and stakeholders by leveraging a deep, expansive knowledge of the business' strategy and internal IT business processes.
Collaborates with project, delivery model and IT teams to ensure continuous delivery of business outcomes, identify opportunities to evolve the business architecture and monitor closure of capability gaps.
Collaborates with product team to ensure continuous delivery of business value, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools, value streams and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
Uses business architecture methodology to create relevant artifacts (e.g. capability heatmaps, roadmaps, journey maps, etc.).
Becomes a trusted advisor to business leaders developing and executing strategies.
What you'll need:
10 or more years of business experience with responsibilities that include strategy development and/or execution, business analysis/analytics and business architecture.
Experience in leading and executing large-scale strategic initiatives, ideally in an agile development model.
Ability to communicate, influence and persuade both business and IT leaders, as well as peers.
Highly collaborative and supportive of business strategies, goals and objectives.
Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to make data-driven decisions.
Ability to travel, based on business needs (up to 10-15%).
It'd be a plus if you had:
Group insurance preferred, but not required.
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
